The face of homelessness
The people in this series are among Sydney's homeless. There are more than 100,000 people in Australia who live without safe, secure and affordable housing. Approximately a quarter of homeless people are children. They are not just people who sleep rough on the street but those who live in caravans and cars, couch surf with friends and family or are in situations that change from night to night - they are the Unseen. Victims of financial crisis, family tragedy, mental illness, marginalisation, domestic violence and addictions, there is a difficult story behind each portrait. We could be them if we had their life.
