Experience the healing power of nature, mindfulness and creativity

Mindfulness photography and art workshops

Enhancing our wellbeing is the best investment we can make in ourselves. Apart from physical health we all seek peace and happiness - a sense of internal calm.

Creativity is one of the best ways to do this. It allows us to express feelings we may not be able to put into words — or even be aware of — yet these may take an ongoing toll on our mental and physical wellbeing.

Mindfulness calms our nervous system and reverses the damaging effects of stress. It develops insight and self awareness to help maintain a happy equilibrium. It also improves focus and concentration and encourages an optimal state of flow and flourishing

Nature is integral to our wellbeing. We are part of nature and when disconnected we suffer. Evidence shows spending time in nature improves our mood, decreases stress levels, lowers our blood pressure and more.

Mindfulness-based photography and art, especially when practiced in nature, combine all these benefits to offer an antidote to the pressures of our busy urban lives.

Art of Wellbeing offers bespoke workshops for groups in a wide range of settings for mental and physical wellbeing.

Mindful photography

Find new perspectives observing the world around you.

Find new perspectives observing the world around you.

We’re often told our addiction to smart phones is bad for our health. But could our phone’s camera be a key to our wellbeing?

What do you see and how do you feel when you stop to look closely at the wonder of the world around you, engaging with all of your senses?

Mindful photography is like mindfulness meditation in action. Looking through a camera distracts us from past or future concerns. We quite literally focus on what we see before us, in the present moment.

Slow down, breathe deeply and simply be: observing things as you may never have before.

Cultivate a sense of gratitude as you immerse yourself in the extraordinary beauty of nature.

Discover how a simple change in perspective can open the door to healing.

Experience the therapeutic benefits of connecting with nature and stimulate your creative process through mindfulness and phone photography.

Use photography as a springboard for making art.

But I'm no good at art!

It is not necessary to be an artist or even 'good at art' to get benefits. We are all naturally creative in our own unique way. What we create is an expression of our own authentic voice. Sadly, we often feel discouraged by negative past experiences.

We can all take a photo on our phone, rejuvenate our inner-child joy to draw, experiment with colour, line, shape and texture, or make a collage using different materials.

The emphasis in Art of Wellbeing  is on the process of creating rather than worrying about the end result. When we relax our creativity naturally flows allowing us to work intuitively and enjoy the experience..

It's OK to just play!
